The Story Behind the Studio
I’m Tara, a BABCP Accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist based in the UK.
For several years, I’ve been supporting people experiencing anxiety, low mood, trauma, and the weight of everyday overthinking.Every person’s journey is different, and my role is to meet you where you are with evidence-based tools and genuine care, so meaningful change feels possible.
Before you invest in Self Work Studios, I want to share a little of my story.
From a young age, I was highly sensitive to the emotions of others. I became the peacekeeper and people pleaser, always putting others first. Over time, this shaped how I saw myself. I struggled with self-doubt, constantly seeking reassurance and found it hard to trust my own decisions.I became trapped in a cycle of overthinking that was mentally exhausting.
However through training to become a therapist, slowly things began to shift. I realised anxiety, overthinking, and self-doubt are not fixed truths. They are habits shaped by past outdated experiences, and with patience and support, they can be understood and managed in new ways.
Through my own self-work and specialist training, I started building emotional resilience. I stopped people pleasing and began trusting myself. That shift became the foundation of my life.
Now, I help others do the same.
Self Work Studios is a space for personal growth and mental wellness, a place to shift unhelpful patterns like people pleasing and perfectionism, reconnect with who you are beneath the noise, and build lasting self-trust.
This work is not about fixing yourself. It is about learning to work with your mind, not against it.
And you don’t have to do it alone. Alongside one-to-one therapy, I host community events where we come together to support, validate, and encourage one another.
If this feels like the right place for you, I would love to invite you to book a free consultation.
